Abstract:
Migraine, a common primary headache disorder impairs functioning and exerts an enormous burden on the quality of life of the affected migraine patients, their families, and the whole community. On a sample of 20 diagnosed migraine cases, during acute episode of migraine, homeopathic medicine selected based on acute totality was administered in water dose with frequent repetition. The time taken for the beginning of pain relief and total pain relief was measured. Impact on the Quality of life was assessed using 24 hour Migraine specific Quality of life Questionnaire (24h MQolQ). Three episodes of migraine were assessed in each patient. There was a strong negative correlation between time taken for pain relief and Quality of Life using Homoeopathy by Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r= -0.58, p<0.001). Accurate selection of individualistic homeopathic medicine allows for lesser time taken for pain relief thereby improving functioning and Quality of Life.
