Abstract:
Impetigo contagiosa, a common bacterial skin infection primarily affecting children, manifests with characteristic erythematous lesions progressing to honey-colored crusts, predominantly around the facial region and limbs. Conventional treatment options, including topical and oral antibiotics, vary widely due to the absence of a standardized therapeutic regimen. This case report documents the management of a 7-year-old male presenting with persistent eruptions around the mouth, accompanied by mild pruritus and discoloration of the lips. Despite prior antibiotic use, symptoms persisted, prompting exploration of alternative therapies. The patient's restlessness and precocious behavior were notable psychological features considered during repertorial analysis in homeopathic treatment selection. Individualized homeopathic intervention led to substantial improvement, underscoring the potential role of homeopathy in addressing refractory cases of infectious dermatological conditions. This case underscores the need for further research into complementary approaches in dermatology, highlighting homeopathy as a viable therapeutic option.
