Abstract:
Digitalis also known as Digoxin is a cardiac glycoside used in the treatment of heart failure particularly in patients with reduced ejection fraction [1]. It exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting sodium-potassium ATPase pump which causes increased contractility of myocardium and controlling heart rate [2]. Despite its benefits, digitalis therapy must be carefully managed due to its narrow therapeutic window and potential for toxicity. In homoeopathy, digitalis is derived from the foxglove plant (Digitalis purpurea) particularly related to the cardiovascular system. Active principle from the plant used is digitoxin. Bendopnea is a symptom of heart failure and is defined as shortness of breath when bending forward [3].
