Abstract:Like all other allergy illnesses, allergic bronchitis is a recognized disease entity. It is typified by an acute, spasmodic dry cough that is triggered by contact with a sensitizing material and whose symptoms are alleviated by adrenaline injection. Sputum will exhibit many eosinophils, D. ophi1ic cells, and few, if any, leucocytes when it is taken and tested for cell content.
A roentgenogram examination could reveal enlarged hilum glands.
Pathological disorders, such as coryza, croup, asthma, and upper respiratory pathologies, are closely linked to allergic bronchitis.
More often than not, croup, bronchitis, and coryza are signs of an underlying allergic state, especially when they are persistent or regularly repeated. He feels that unless the patient has a clear familial and personal history of allergy, allergies should not be examined until all other causes have been checked out.
Even in the later stages of the disease, where hypersensitivity is the underlying cause of the condition, symptoms may improve after the offending drug is removed.
