A case report on the homoeopathic treatment of seborrheic dermatitis

Abstract:
Seborrheic dermatitis, a chronic recurrent inflammatory dermatologic disorder of the scalp, commonly affecting infants & adults. A 11 year old, male patient by name VSY, came with complaints of severe itching, burning, flaking of skin, pustular eruptions, hair loss in patches and sticky discharge over scalp from past 1 month and increased since 1 weak. He was not able to sit in one place, he was crying and roaming in entire OPD area. On examination of the scalp-flacking of skin, crust formation, patches of hair loss, pustular eruptions and sticky discharge was noted. After case taking & repertorization, Arsenicum album 200 was prescribed three times a day for 1 day, followed by PL three times a day for 15 days and was advised to report after 15 days. Within 15 days he got cured completely without leaving behind any scars and even there was hair growth in all patches where he lost hair. The patient was followed up for a year and there was no relapse. Documentation of the case was done in the form of photographs of affected area.
