Abstract:

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that commonly occurs as men age. Imbalance between testosterone and estrogen thought to be the primary cause of BPH. As the prostate enlarges, it can press on the urethra, leading to urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty starting urination, weak urine flow, and nocturia (nighttime urination). Treatment options include lifestyle changes, medications (alpha-blockers and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors), minimally invasive procedures, and surgery for more severe cases. Homoeopathy is a branch of science based on the individualization and holism concept i.e., man as a whole is treated and not just the disease in man. Managing the cases of BPH with homoeopathy is an art and science both. This study will focus on the effectivity of homoeopathic medicine in treating the cases of BPH.
