Efficacy of constitutional homoeopathic management in stress induced migraine

Back ground: Migraine is a frequently occurring episodic headache disorder, often induced by stress and characterized by heightened sensitivity to light, sound, and motion, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. It affects both men and women, usually developing at a young age. Stress, a major trigger, originates from emotional and physiological reactions to perceived threats, playing a crucial role in migraine attacks.
Individual predisposition plays a vital role in health promotion and disease prevention by addressing the person as a whole, including physical structure, biological functions, and inherited traits shaped by environmental factors which describes the constitution of individual.
The homoeopathic system of medicine offers deep insights into the origin and progression of stress in relation to migraines, highlighting its unique expression in each individual.
Methodology: This study consists of 75 patients of stress induced migraine, who attended OPD/IPD of HKES Dr Maalakaraddy homeopathic medical college and hospital, Kalaburagi, during the period of July 2021 to January 2023 which are identified on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. The stress level was interpreted by perceived stress scale questionnaire.
Result: Total 75 cases were selected for this study. It was observed that out of 75 subjects 45 improved, 20 not improved & 10 are dropped out that is 60% improved, 27% not improved & 13% dropped out by end of the study period. This result is obtained with suitable Homoeopathic constitutional medicines. Data is analysed by paired t-test is applied to statistical data analysis where p <0.05, consider as significant. Stress value is analysed with the help of PSS questionnaire for every month. The significant difference (p<0.05) was found in the study subjects before and after treatment.
Conclusion: Homoeopathic constitutional remedies play a significant role in effectively managing stress-induced migraines.
