Abstract:

The inflammation of the pancreas is known as pancreatitis. It occurs when the pancreas itself is broken down by digestive enzymes. Both acute and chronic pancreatitis are possible. Both forms are dangerous and may cause complications. In this case report a boy aged 13 years presented with history of Covid 19 infection after which started with complaints of recurrent excruciating pain in epigastric region and paraumbilical region with hematemesis. He was diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis with three fold increase in Serum lipase and Serum amylase. Based on clear mental concomitant, characteristic physical generals Mercurius solubilis (Merc Sol) was prescribed. Patient’s condition was evaluated initially every 24 hours, where in the mental and physical generals and pain was assessed. Later the follow up was maintained every fortnightly. Blood Serum lipase and Amylase showed normal reading after 45 days of treatment. This case report highlights importance of mental concomitants and Physical generals in acute prescription.
