Role of Naja Tripudians in the management of chronic venous insufficiency with valvular heart disease
Parvathy B Menon, Gokul Krishna K and CR Krishnakumariamma
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a condition in which the flow of superficial or deep venous blood is impaired, causing venous hypertension. CVI encompasses several pathological changes (e.g., lower extremity oedema, skin trophic changes, and discomfort) that result secondary to venous hypertension. Peripheral artery disease and previous venous thrombo-embolism, which is known to cause chronic venous disease, were among the cardiovascular conditions that were already present in those with chronic venous illness. Advanced chronic venous illness was highly prevalent in patients with established heart failure.
Case summary: A case study demonstrated how well Naja Tripudians worked for a patient with valvular heart disease and chronic venous insufficiency. Using a computerized repertory in accordance with the Materia Medica, homeopathic medicine was selected after conventional protocols for case taking and evaluation were followed. Improvement in this case suggests that homeopathy may be useful in the treatment of valvular heart disease and chronic venous insufficiency.
