Hypothyroidism; well managed by homoeopathy: A case report
Manoranjan Kumar, Om Prakash Patidar and Babita Shrivastava
Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder that significantly affects women's health, particularly in reproductive age groups. Conventional treatment primarily relies on lifelong levothyroxine therapy, which, while effective in restoring hormone levels, may lead to side effects and does not address the underlying constitutional imbalances. This case report presents the successful management of a 36-year-old female diagnosed with overt hypothyroidism using individualized homoeopathic treatment. The patient presented with delayed and scanty menses, dry skin eruptions, constipation, general fatigue, and emotional withdrawal. Based on a detailed analysis of the mental, physical, and general symptoms, Sepia was prescribed. Over six months, the patient showed significant improvement in both physical symptoms and emotional well-being. Her menstrual cycle normalized, skin eruptions resolved, and follow-up thyroid function tests returned to normal values. This case demonstrates the potential of homoeopathy as a safe, individualized, and holistic therapeutic option for hypothyroidism, emphasizing its ability to address the root cause and enhance overall vitality
