Abstract:

The intricate relationship between emotional well-being and digestive health is a compelling example of the mind-body connection. Emerging research increasingly highlights how mental states like stress, anxiety, and depression can directly influence gastrointestinal function, while digestive disturbances can, in turn, impact mood and cognitive health. Functional Dyspepsia is one of the most prevalent gastrointestinal disorder which is characterised by symptoms such as epigastric pain or burning, early satiety, and postprandial fullness, without any structural abnormalities detected via imaging or endoscopy. Understanding this connection is crucial in managing conditions like functional dyspepsia where psychological support can be just as important as dietary and medical treatment.
