Abstract:

Pilonidal Sinus is a chronic inflammatory condition involving the hair follicles affecting mostly in between the sacrococcygeal joint and coccyx which is suppurating in nature. The epithelial lined tract penetrates under the skin or deeper from the hair follicle which begins as an abscess and progresses into cyst, further sinus and may even extent to perineum. Compared to adults, individuals with pilonidal sinuses have a higher 5-year recurrence rate (46% vs. 11.5%; p < 0.0001). most frequently observed in young, hairy guys. A 17-year-old male visited the SKHMC hospital and admitted in IPD with the complaints of burning and tearing pain, chronic non-healing ulcer in the gluteal cleft since 7 months with increased sweat in lumbar region, disturbed sleep due to pain and was diagnosed as pilonidal sinus. He underwent surgery but the sinus reoccurred and was advised surgery again. After detailed case taking and repertorization based on symptom similarity Silicea was prescribed to the patient along with Echinacea mother tincture were used for cleaning and dressing with the goal of healing the ulcer and preventing the recurrence. In this case, after reperterisation the symptom similarities indicates Silicea 0/1. then we prescribed this remedy to the patient along with this Echinacea mother tincture were used for the purpose of external dressing throughout daily. the patient improved within 2months. therefore, homoepathy is not just a miracle it’s a science this is one of the surgical case manage under homoeopathic treatment
