Abstract:
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is one of the most common bacterial infections, affecting individuals of all ages and sexes, though it is significantly more prevalent in women. UTIs occur when pathogenic microorganisms, primarily bacteria, invade and multiply within the urinary system, which includes the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys. If left untreated, UTIs can lead to serious complications such as pyelonephritis, sepsis, and kidney damage. This paper outlines the nature, significance, and underlying causes of UTIs to promote better understanding and inform appropriate prevention and treatment strategies.
