Abstract:

Ringworm or tinea is an itchy, contagious fungal infection that causes a ring-shaped pattern on the skin. Fungi thrive in warm and humid areas such as locker rooms and public showers. This common and contagious skin infection gets its name from the red, itchy, ring-shaped skin plaque. It spreads easily and through close contact. Ringworm goes by different names depending on which body part it affects. Ringworm on the body is called tinea corporis. Conventionally anti-fungal topical applications have been used for the treatment. Alternative systems of medicine have their scope in the treatment of various types of fungal infections, especially Homoeopathy. Homoeopathy prescription not only considers the diseased part but also importantly the individuality of the patient. A case report of Tinea Coporis of a 13-year-old male treated successfully with Homoeopathic medicine selected based on totality is presented here.
