Homoeopathic management in a case of Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) associated with hypothyroidism

Abstract:

Oral lichen planus is a chronic inflammatory muco-cutaneous disease most commonly affecting middle aged females. In some population, OLP has been reported to be associated with certain systemic diseases, including hepatitis C virus, hypertension, diabetes mellitus & thyroid disorders.

Case summary: This is the case of female patient presented with OLP associated with hypothyroidism since 5months. And she diagnosed as hypothyroid from 3months. Based on presenting symptoms, treatment was started prospectively following homoeopathic principles & follow-ups done in suitable intervals as about 4months.

Results: Marked improvement was seen within 4 months of treatment.
