Abstract:

Background: Nutritional anemia is a global challenge, particularly prevalent in developing countries like India. Despite dietary interventions and public health initiatives, iron deficiency anemia remains a pressing issue.
Methods: A review of literature was conducted using databases such as PubMed, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar. Articles focusing on homeopathic, Ayurvedic, and conventional treatments were included.
Results: Clinical and observational studies report improvement in hemoglobin levels and anemia-related symptoms using homeopathic remedies like Ferrum phosphoricum and Ferrum metallicum, and Ayurvedic formulations such as Kasīsa bhasma. Conventional iron therapy remains primary, but has side effects and adherence challenges.
Conclusion: Complementary therapies offer promising supportive roles in managing anemia. Integrative approaches may enhance treatment outcomes and patient compliance. Further research is warranted to validate these findings.
