Abstract:

Obesity is a complex and multifactorial health condition characterized by excessive body fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. Globally, obesity rates have risen dramatically over the past few decades, affecting both developed and developing nations. This condition is associated with a higher risk of numerous chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, certain cancers, and musculoskeletal disorders. The causes of obesity are diverse, ranging from genetic and biological factors to environmental, behavioural, and socio-economic influences. Homoeopathy offers a holistic and individualized approach to the management of obesity, focusing on addressing the root causes and restoring balance in the body. This paper explores the definition, significance, and various causes of obesity to provide a foundation for understanding this growing public health concern.
