Homoeopathic approach in arthritis
Priti and Anil Aggarwal
Arthritis is a common disorder characterized by inflammation of the joints leading to pain, stiffness, swelling, and decreased range of motion. It encompasses a variety of types, including Osteoarthritis (OA), a degenerative joint disease caused by cartilage breakdown, and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), an autoimmune condition causing chronic joint inflammation. The etiology varies depending on the type but often includes genetic predisposition, age, joint injury, and immune dysfunction. Clinical manifestations range from mild discomfort to severe disability. Diagnosis involves clinical evaluation supported by laboratory and imaging studies. Management is multidisciplinary and includes lifestyle modifications, pharmacotherapy, physical therapy, homoeopathy and in some cases, surgery. A personalized approach aimed at symptom relief and improving joint function is critical to enhancing patient quality of life.
