Abstract:

This comprehensive overview highlights the often under diagnosed spectrum of chronic venous diseases, emphasizing their impact on superficial, deep and perforating veins. Conditions such as varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), venous ulcers, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), haemorrhoids, and varicocele are discussed, focusing on their pathophysiology, symptoms and potential complications. CVI results from valvular failure, leading to blood pooling, swelling, skin changes and ulcers, especially when untreated. Varicose veins are characterized by dilated, twisted superficial veins, primarily in the lower limbs, causing discomfort and skin changes. Venous ulcers often follow varicose veins or thrombosis. DVT poses a serious risk of pulmonary embolism, presenting with pain, swelling and respiratory distress. Haemorrhoids and varicocele are additional venous disorders with distinctive features and symptoms. Management strategies include lifestyle modifications, compression therapy and surgical options, while homoeopathic remedies aim to address underlying vascular disturbances. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial to prevent progression and complications of these venous conditions.
