Abstract:

Constipation has become a common issue in recent times, largely due to changes in lifestyle. It can affect individuals of any age, from newborns to older adults, with females being more commonly affected than males. Excretion is closely linked to a wide range of psychological factors, and is also indirectly related to one’s overall personality. A classic example of this is Sigmund Freud’s concept of the "anal character." Emotional conditions such as these, which are initially triggered and then maintained by the mind, can be effectively addressed through psychological treatments. Although these issues may not yet severely impact the body, they can often be reversed with psychotherapeutic approaches, such as fostering confidence, offering friendly encouragement, providing sensible advice, and occasionally using well-intentioned deception. Combined with appropriate dietary and lifestyle changes, these mental strategies can lead to both a healthier mind and body.
