Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a complex mental health condition that can develop after exposure to severe or prolonged trauma. While many individuals recover naturally from traumatic events, a significant proportion continue to experience persistent symptoms that affect their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. PTSD is frequently associated with coexisting psychiatric conditions, physical health complaints, and an increased risk of suicide, imposing a considerable personal and social burden. The pathophysiology of PTSD involves complex interactions between neurobiological, psychological, and social factors, with persistent alterations in stress-response systems and neurotransmitter pathways. Conventional treatments often pose challenges related to side effects and patient compliance. Homoeopathy, with its holistic approach, offers an alternative or complementary path by focusing on the patient as a whole, addressing underlying causes, and strengthening the body’s natural defence mechanisms. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy, clearly outlined the management of mental diseases in the Organon of Medicine, describing how both homoeopathic medicines and psychical support can restore balance and health. This article reviews the potential role of homoeopathy in managing PTSD and highlights its unique approach to healing both mind and body.
