Abstract:

James Tyler Kent’s Twelve Observations serve as a guiding framework in evaluating the action of a homoeopathic remedy. Far from being original to Kent, these observations draw heavily from the teachings of Samuel Hahnemann, particularly from the Organon of Medicine and the Chronic Diseases. Kent systematized these teachings to offer an accessible tool for prognosis following remedy administration. This article revisits each of the twelve observations, traces their Hahnemannian roots, and discusses their relevance in clinical decision-making. An understanding of these observations is essential to avoiding common therapeutic errors and interpreting the trajectory of cure.
