Healing beyond symptom relief: Constitutional homoeopathic management of recurrent renal calculi with lycopodium
Athira TR and Praveen M Kulkarni
Background: Renal calculi represent a frequent and distressing urological condition, often necessitating surgical intervention in conventional medical practice, particularly when associated with complications such as hydronephrosis.
Case Summary: A 34-year-old male presented with a history of recurrent renal calculi, gallbladder sludge with small calculi, grade 1 fatty liver, and intermittent hydronephrosis. Constitutional analysis of the totality of symptoms indicated Lycopodium clavatum as the simillimum. Treatment was conducted according to Kent’s series of potencies, commencing with 200C and progressing up to 50M, resulting in marked clinical improvement and radiological clearance of obstruction.
Conclusion: This case highlights the scope of individualized constitutional homoeopathic therapy in managing chronic urological disorders, potentially preventing the need for surgical intervention and improving overall systemic health.
