The importance of anatomy in disease diagnosis and patient-as-person assessment in homeopathic perspective
Trupti Prashant Hiwase
This review article examines the integrated role of anatomical knowledge in homeopathic practice, exploring how understanding of anatomy structures informs both disease diagnosis and the individualized patient assessment central to homeopathic philosophy. While homeopathy operates on holistic principles emphasizing subjective symptomatology, anatomical knowledge provides a crucial foundation for accurate remedy selection and case management. This article synthesizes perspectives from homeopathic education, clinical practice, and research evidence, demonstrating that anatomical precision and "patient-as-person" approaches are complementary rather than contradictory in homeopathic practice. The review analyzes how homeopathic repertories and materia medica incorporate anatomical references, how anatomical knowledge enhances clinical reasoning, and what evidence exists regarding homeopathy's efficacy from both supportive and critical perspectives.
