Chronic gastritis in the homeopathic treatment: A review
Iswarya S, Dilipkumar and Ginu D Moham
Homeopathic remedies for gastritis focus on treating the inflammation of the stomach lining using natural substances tailored to individual symptoms. Commonly studied homeopathic remedies include Nux vomica, Lycopodium, and Pulsatilla, each selected based on specific patient characteristics and symptom presentations. Nux vomica is often indicated for those experiencing digestive issues such as heartburn, bloating, and irregular bowel movements, especially after consuming rich foods. Clinical studies on Nux vomica have shown mixed results, with most failing to demonstrate significant effectiveness for gastritis symptoms. Lycopodium may be suitable for individuals with issues like belching and fullness related to social stress, while Pulsatilla is recommended for those with fluctuating symptoms following rich meals. Despite traditional practices emphasizing these remedies, recent findings suggest that lifestyle and dietary modifications, such as adopting an anti-inflammatory diet and reducing stress, may offer more effective relief for gastritis. Other natural treatments, like garlic supplements, green tea, and manuka honey, have also shown potential benefits.
