Abstract:

Tinea cruris is a common fungal infection of the groin, often worsened by heat, sweating, poor hygiene, and the use of synthetic clothing. Chronic or recurrent cases can be challenging to treat due to antifungal resistance and repeated topical suppression. A 58-year-old man with six months of persistent itching, burning, and scaly eruptions in the groin region experienced only temporary relief from topical antifungals. After detailed case-taking and miasmatic assessment, Sulphur 30C was prescribed as a single dose, followed by placebo. The patient showed clear improvement within two weeks and complete recovery within six weeks, with no relapse during six months of follow-up. This case illustrates how individualized homoeopathic treatment can provide deep and lasting relief in chronic Tinea cruris by addressing the patient’s underlying susceptibility rather than merely targeting the fungal infection.
