Abstract:

A 60 year old female with an 8 year history of type 2 diabetes presented with a chronic, non healing plantar ulcer of the right great toe, associated peripheral neuropathy and offensive purulent discharge. Clinical assessment classified the lesion as Wagner Grade 3. After individualized homoeopathic assessment and repertorisation, Arsenicum album (200C then 1M) was prescribed together with topical Calendula tincture for local wound care. Over sequential follow ups the ulcer showed progressive granulation and ultimately complete epithelialization, accompanied by improved subjective wellbeing and better glycaemic control. The case is presented to illustrate the application of individualized classical homoeopathy in a complex diabetic foot ulcer and is documented with photographic evidence and objective follow up data.
