T llaya Pallavan, AT Senthil Kumar and Jenifer Infanta J
Solidago virgaurea, commonly known as “Golden Rod,” is a well-known homoeopathic remedy derived from the flowering tops of the plant belonging to the family Compositae (Asteraceae). It is widely recognized for its profound action on the urinary organs, kidneys, and mucous membranes. This article aims to present a comprehensive overview of Solidago virgaurea—covering its botanical background, pharmacological aspects, distribution, therapeutic sphere of action, and characteristic symptoms as in classical homoeopathic literature. The remedy’s clinical relevance in conditions such as nephritis, cystitis, renal calculi, and urinary tract infections (UTIs) is emphasized, alongside its broader constitutional indications.
